During my visits to Brazil, I'd like to teach photography to poor children, as a new profession perspective for them. I am a Brazilian photographer, living in USA. As I come from a very poor part of Brazil, I know most of the kids have very low expectations about getting a good job when the are 18 or older. In fact, most of them start working a lot earlier, but on very tough jobs and making just enough money to buy some food. So, as I am going to visit Brazil soon, I'd like to spend some time teaching a selected group of underprivileged children how to take pictures, and that way, opening some doors to have a specialized profession and so, a better job in the future. it's amazing to see the impact that photography has had on underprivileged children. The response of the children varie...

These are the silent cries of millions of underprivileged children across India. Yet, only a few can imagine being a part of the main stream, and even fewer go on to achieve it!!! Footpath shaala- An initiative like none other, aims to achieve just that! Armed with a battalion of dedicated young volunteers we have set out on a mission to educate and empower as many street kids as possible. Subject to extreme poverty and insurmountable hardships street kids face on a day-to-day basis, begging is one of the easiest ways out for these tiny tots! UPAY was quick to realize that with the power to shape our nation’s future, these young minds could be put to better use. Founded by an Ex-IITian, Mr.Varun Shrivastava, UPAY has gone on to achieve a lot in a very short span of time. With over 1...

Russian/Eng/Nat Underprivileged children have become one of the scourges of modern-day Russia - parents unable to survive economic hardships either exploit their offspring or abandon them. Last year the number of orphanages doubled to 1140 and this figure is growing while the state's resources are dwindling. Now charities have set up projects which they hope will bring some light into the dark world of child care in Russia. Moscow's exclusive Sadko Arcade is a winter wonderland for any child. It's a playground for those whose parents have benefited from the new Russia. But with even the smallest cuddly toys costing almost a 100 U-S dollars only the privileged can expect to leave with something. It's a distant dream for Russia's ever growing army of street chil...
The first step towards achieving anything is believing that you can do it. We at Dance Out of Poverty try and provide such platforms to these children, where they can perform in front of their idols and get appreciated by them. These are life changing experiences for these children, it gives them the confidence and belief that they can dance their way out of Poverty and other challenges in life. We thank you all for supporting the initiative. Thank you Disney, Spice, Eros Now, UTV Motion Pictures for supporting us in giving platforms to these children. And last but not the least, thank you Tiger Shroff, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Nawazuddin Siddiqui for encouraging them.
October 2013 I and a couple of friends (Soumya,Alam,Tanaz) volunteered to help teach Grade 8 Children. Sadly the level of Maths I am teaching here is very low grade 3-4 standard but these children are lucky to get education so who's complaining .

The journey of Aarohan, an NGO providing free education to underprivileged children in the Indian capital New Delhi, started way back in 2005. Since then, with the help of various individuals and organisations, Aarohan has been able to transform the lives of thousands of children, who would have otherwise become victims of child labour. MIGTV visited the NGO to capture the stories of these children. One such success story is that of Bhawna, whose life was changed by Aarohan when she joined as a student, and now she teaches in the same institution to change the lives of others.
